Homelessness
The Queensland Government is committed to reducing homelessness in Queensland.
We fund 90 non-government organisations to deliver more than 200 specialist homelessness services.
Our Homes for Queenslanders initiative provides additional funding to these organisations. Ensuring they can continue to support the most vulnerable in our community.
We're also delivering a more connected system. This will provide homeless Queenslanders with seamless pathways into safe and affordable housing.
What we’re doing
- Funding more short-term temporary accommodation.
- Expanding the Critical Response Team to regional Queensland.
- Increasing crisis housing and supporting the transition to long-term housing.
- Funding Specialist Homelessness Services including more help for youth and First Nations peoples.
- Providing financial assistance to help people stay in their homes and avoid homelessness.
Ending homelessness needs more than just safe secure and affordable housing. We’re also delivering the appropriate support to our government and community services partners, with significant focus on mental health.
